OFFICIAI. VISIT TO OAMARU The Minister of Education (Hon. R. A. Wright) is paying his first official visit to Oamaru. The Minister, who is accompanicd by Mrs Wright and his private secretarv (Mr W. I. Deavoll) arrived here by the second express from the north last evening and was mcl at the station by the mayor (Mr ,T. McDiarmid), | Mr E. P. Lee. M.P.. and a number of | gentlemen interested in thc edueaj tional facilities oT the district. Mr l Wright is anxious to inake hlmself faniiliar with the requirements of , all Ihe districts under liis charge, and, iu order to acquire first-hand i knowledge he intends making a personal inspection of the schools. | Last evening the Minister was disengaged but he will have a busy , time to-day. At 9 a.m. he will inspect the North School and at 9.40 thc South School, followed hy a visit to the Girls' Junior High School at 11 and the Girls' Senior ✓ High School at 11.35. At 2 o'clock he will proceed to the. Boys' High ! School when part of his time will | be occupied with a short address to | the boys in the Memorial Hall. i The Minister leaves for the south ' by the second express this afternoon.
