! WELLINGTON Marcli 22. Prisoners wero to-day sentenced by the Chief Justice as follows: — J.eonard Reginald Brown, John Ernest Hoskins, breaking, entering and tlieft. The flrst-named was senlenccd to three years' in the Borstal Institution, and the latter . to probation i'or the same period, to remain in the employ of his father and make restitution of £1 19s Cd and past costs, £3 Os 8d. Judge Skerrett said tliat breaking and entering was becoming too common in the country. Albert, Laurence, and Joseph Windsor, three brothers, for breaking, entering and theft. The last two were sentenced to five years' hard labour and the first to four years, Albert Vivian Love, on a similar charge was sentenced to two years in the Borstal. William Edward Rosbel Ebert, for theft (two charges), and breaking and entering, was sentenced . to six months' reformative detention. Leonard Llewellyn Grant, for the theft of a cash box containing over. £500, was sentenced to twelve months hard labour. Robert Billinson Simpson for theft, forgery and uttering was sentenced to two years' Borstal. Cyril Leonard Dawe, theft, . while a Government clerk, was admitted to twelve months' probation, | to make restitution and pay £1 ls costs. Lois George Findlay Lundguist for indecent assault was sentenced to two years' hard labour. John James Allan (33), for bigamy, was ordered to undergo reformatiye treatment not exceeding two years.
