PALMERSTON N., March 17. i The Wellington executive of thc I Dairy Farmers' Union to-day passed | !a resolution: "That this executive 1 ' xpress its sympathy with the Con- ; : trol Board in its present position, ! and confidence that it Avill eventually be successful in obtaining good j results." The executive also resolved to i write to Mr Coates urging the Government to assist thc board in properly marketing produce. The opinion was exprcssed by the president that the situation was organisqd by mcrchants in England in an endeavour to abolish tlie Control Board altogether, and that a word of encouragemcnt to tlie board j would not be out of place. - Regret also was expressed' that I certain memhers- of the Control I Board had turhed tail on the pro- ! ducers. It was stated tliat the ranlc and ! | lile of the farming conlmunity were | ardent supporters of the board, and j that farmers' individual opinions j should not be overlooked. Several | members considered that a great deal of the trouble to-day could be. traced to the appointment of the Government representative on the board, wliich was alleged to he a distinct breach of i'aith with the producers, and that the Government appointed a man who was entirely opposed to the interestS of the producers.
