DISTR1CT COMMITTEE'S JUDGMENT 'UPSET.

WELLINGTON, Last Night. Following is the full text judgaient of the New Zealand Racing Conference in connection with Mr J. S. Barrett's appeal: "We have carefully considerejl this appeal and the result of our judg'ment is that the full amount of the stakes for the ClifFord Plate, 1927, is 650 sovs. Part XXVI., Rule 2, of the Rules of Racing provides: 'The full amount shall he pahi in all cases in which two or more horses weigh out.' Part XXVI., Rule 3, of Ihe Rules of Racing provides: 'Any money or prize which, by the conditions of the race, is to go to the horse placed second or in any lower place in the race shall" if only one horse weighs out, or if no horse be placed second if it be part of the stake or plate go to the winner.' Therefore we order that the third money in the Ciifford Plate, 1927, becomes payahie to the owner'bf the winner. We uphold the appeal of Mr J. S. Barrett against the decision of the Auckland District Committee and order the deposit of £20 to be reiunded. Signed Ilarold H. Russell, John H. Perrett, 0. S.
