TRIP TO NEW SOUTH WALES. KIRK-WINDEYER CUP CONTEST. The date for the golf contest between New Zealand and New South Wales for the Kirk-Windeyer Cup has been fixed. according fo advice received by the New Zealand Association. This fixture and others in which New Zealand players will be able to take part as follows: — ( The Australian championsliip foursomes on June 4; the Royal | Sydney Cup on June 6 (this is ordinarily limited to short ' handicap players inv the Roya,l Sydney and the Australian golf clubs, but on this occasion has been thrown open to New Zealand visitors with low handicaps also); the Kirk-Windeyer Cup (four balls and singles), on* June 8 and 9; qualifying rounds for New South Wales amateur championship on June^ll. The first round of match play for the championship will be on June 13, the second round on June 14, the semifinal on June 16, and the final on June 18. All these evehts wiH. be played on the Royal Sydney Golf Club's course at Rose Bay, and a committee has already been set up in Sydney for the reception and entertainment of the New Zealand visitors. Present indications point . to the New Zealand. Association being able to send over its best team, the members of which will leave Wellington on May 27, arriving in Sydney on May 31, so that they will have over a week in Sydney before the inter-i'State matches are played. The New South Wales Association indicates in its letter that it will welcome as many New Zealand golfers as can make the trip .with the team.
