fcienry Ryder, wharf laborer, expired suddenly at 11.40 a.m. He was engaged in a frozen meat van loading sheep into tho steamer Aotea, and suddenly foil forward and died instantly. Ha was an industrious, steady man, much rospected, and leaves a wife and seron or eight children. Deceased'a dinner was usually lent to him at the wharf, and a messenger was sent to turn bick the little girl who generally brought it. On this ncca ■ion the child canvj down t>y another w»y any missed tho messenger, and met tho proceision carrying the dead body of her father to i» casual ward. A very pitiful scene followed, the child being almost heartbroken.
