Tho present season of tho Ounaru Chess Club promis3s to bo tho mo-t puocessful tho club lms yot had. Five now mombors havo joined, some of whom no doubt will prove strong plvyers. The committee hnvo arranged two tourneys, to commence next Tuesday evonintg — ono a handicap, and tho other a champion. A small entrance foo will bo charged, and trophies will bo presented to tho two winners. Unfortunately the club will bo without tho assistance of its strongest player— Mr C.ayton, that gentleman having decided to rest this soison. The committco havo asked Mr CUyton to act as handicappor in the handictp tourney.
