AUCKLAND. May 2.

This morning a meeting of thoae who bare been working for the Wednesday half-holiday was held. It waß agreed,, in •pite of the amended Gazette notice, that those present would go on as before, and fight the matter out. Tha committee farther agreed to oil a meeting of the tradesmen of Queen street, Karangahape road, and the whole of the suburbs, with a Tlew to working for Wednesday to be observed at a holiday. The Wednesday people state they are determined not to glre way.
