At the inquest on Miss Elizibeth Britlfs, fuiind dead in hi r house, Newton street, the medical evidence was to the efleoi that she died from infl immation nf the chest, but otherwise was a healthy woman. The jury *ere not conrinoed, and returned an opon verdict of found dead, wi'h no marks of violence, but how or whe she came by her death there Wda no evidence to show. The agent of the L^bor Bureau has received instructions from Wellington to put on 20 men »l ri>ad m»king at IWorua on the co-operative principle, in order to lessen the unemployed. Mmi Parkes, lady superintondent of the Ho-pit^l, has rrsign' cJ, ht-r complaint, like D.-M'Gill's, is that th«- ac ion of » section of the Bo.ud prevents the enforcement of discipline.
