Several lots changed hands during the past week. Store Sheep. — Tho market still remains flat. Iho uncertainty of satisfactory returns from investments in these is doubtless affecting business to a considerable extent ; neveitlielcss, a good many tats are changing hands, but young crossbmls in forward condition have the preference Aged sheep, botli merino and crossbred, are saleable un 1 aio being bought for boiling down. There is a considerable number still in the market, but Bellers being now more anxious to moot buyers sales will be less d fficult to effect. Urass Seeds.— Thero is some inquiry for prime samples of ryegrass, woll-dvessed, and sliotty short seed, and saUs could be m.vdo at a slight concession, but the supply being limited sellers a*o not anxious to quit at under quotations, which are : For best machine-dressed perennial, 8s Od to 4s ; medium to good, 3s 3d to 3s Gd (e\ stoic, sacks extra, not). Cocksfoot is in full supply, and a dull market, best dicssed offeiing at 4(1 to 4Jd ; medium, 3d to 4d per lb (ex store, sacks txtra, net). Potatoes. - Tho supply being considerably in excess of requirements, sales arc now ditlicult to effect, oxoept at very unsatisfactory pncoß, best DurwenU (in rctnil lots) only fetching LI 12s Gd to LI 17s Gd ; medium, LI 7s 0 i to LI 103 per ton (ex store, sa^ks weighed in, net). Chaff.— Consignments have been pouring in at such a i ato that payable prices can't now by any moans bo obtained, an I tlio bulk in co i sequence is being 'toied, bebt, when saleable, only fetching 35s to 40s— an odd truck occusiouully slightly moic ; medium to good, 30s to 3js ; inferior, 25s to 27s Od per ton (ex truck, sacks returned, net). Dairy Produce — Prime salt butter, ddiiymadc, is worth OJd to 7d ; mo j him, slow salo at 3d to 4d ; North Island iactoryinndc, 7} 1 to BJd ; local fnctory-made, lOd to lid. Factory-made cheese, niclnnn bi/o, 4Jdto4yd; loif shape, 4^l tosd; daitymado, 2Jd to 3$ per lb.
