SOUTH SCHOOL.
Tho annual meeting of householders was held last night, there being a fnir attendance. Mr A.. G. CreagU (chairman) occupied the chair. Mr Pinol, the aecretary, read the report (which has been published) and balance-sheet, which were adopted. The balance-sheet showed a credit at the end of March of Ll6 6s, bub against this there are outstanding liabilities of Ll4 or Ll5. The following committee was elected : Messrs Pinel 18, Keid 17, Creagh 17, Hamilton 16, Penfold 15, Grenfell 14, Mackintosh 14. Singleton 14, Rosie 14. The first meeting was appointed for Friday next. Mr Williamson proposed a hearty vote of thanks to tho late committee and tho secretary. This was seconded by Mr Anderson, and carried unanimously. ! The Chairman said nothing of a serious character had been brought before the Committee last year, and therefore it must be taken for granted that school matters had been carried out satisfactorily. The only thing he had to find fault with was tho absence of a largo number of householders who should bo present. It seeired that unless there was ft row tho attendance was indifferent. A voice : We must arrange for a row before next annual meeting. The Chairman thought it was tho only thing that would bring householders to the meetings. On the motion of Mr Liddell, a vote of thanks was pissed to the chairman, and tho meeting terminated.
