It is well to know : That groaso may bo removed from woollen poods by sponging »<tme with Htrong cold coffee. That black silk may bo ronovatod by a thorough sponging with stale boer placed botwoon newspapers and pressed with a hot iron. That two parts crude oil and ono part of turpontino romovos whito sp its from furniture, and makoa as good a polish as one can desire to havo. That fine laces may bo cleaned by being packed in wheat flour and allowed to remain 24 hours. That food may bo kept hot by covoring and sotting in a pan o£ hot water. That a little korosono mixed with starch gives a gloss to collars and cuffa. That lobsters should always bo boiled at homo. That sprinkling salt on any substance burning on the stove will destroy the odor and smoke. That a bit of charcoal bo-led with cabbayo destroys tho disagreoablo odor and renders tho cabbago moro digestible That a bit of popper rolled in cotton, tho wholo dippod in alcohol, whisky, or brandy, in cm excellent remedy for earache. That a teaspoonful of baking-soda in a oup of boiling water makos an excellent garglo for soro throat, to bo usod as hot as you can possibly boar it. That cake made with ono egg is just as palatablo as ono mado with many it it is fresh and well baked. That a cup of cold, strong coffoo, instead of milk, in a ono-egg c.ikos mukos an agrooablo chango. A cup of chocolate may also bo used. When yju prefer milk, stir in a portion of wha over dried fruit you may dosiro. It is an inexpensive c>iko and an attractive one.
