OAMARU LAND & BUILDING INVESTMENT SOCIETY.

Another monthly meeting of the Oamaru Land and Building Investment Society was held in the .Northern Hotel on the 3rd inst. at 7 p.m., on which occasion the Bum of £16712s was received of subscriptions on the 750 shares, including a few fines, the number of defaulters being considerably larger than on the first occasion. At 8 o'clock ten shares were put up to public sale, with tbe following results, after considerable competition :— Ist Share— J. T. Evans £14 15 0 2nd do.—Thomas Shalders ... 14 2 6 3rd do.—C.Galbraith 14 17 6 4th nnd sth do. -James Hay ... 14 12 6 6th do. to 10th inclusive—Jas. Bruce 14 10 0 Mr Bruce electing, in terms of the .rules, to take five shares at the same rate.
