NEW ZEALAND EXHIBITION.
Wo are requested by the Hon. Secretary of -h»| Committee of this district to call attention afresh to 3 the very important requisition contained m the ibl-g lowing resolution of the Commissioner: — t " That, with a view to the early preparation of Mieg catalogue giving proper information to the Ccm-| missioner of the character of goods proposed to beg exhibited, it be an instruction to the local committees! and agents to require that each exhibitor should be| called upon, when demanding space, to catalogueg what he proposes to forward, and to state the num-| ber of similar objects he proposes to exhibit. He uj to be at liberty to price his catalogue, and to nrwkj obiects with prices ; but he will not be allowed to] sell in the Exhibition. This should bo in addition] to, and separate from, the ordinary demand for] space." ! As it is a great advantage to exhibitors themeelres' to be allowed to describe their exhibits, it is to bo hoped that all applications for space from this dite will be accompanied with a carefully prepared catalogue, descriptive of the objects to be exhibited. Time is fast slipping by, and if anything of importance is to be done for the credit of Oamaru, those interested should bestir themselves at once. A s ib-scriphon-list has been issued and circulated by the District Committee, and copies of it are in the hand i of Messrs Filleul, Parker, Locke, J. Hassell, G-ibbs, Waddell Glass, Hudson, Matthews, Keid, and at the office of this paper. The object of raising a satu of money in the locality for the promotion of the objects of tho Exhibition, is to entitle the locality to a moiety of a vote made by the Provincial Committee to the Finance Committee, for apportionment to the different districts. The preceient winch appears to have been established in cases where the subsidy has been paid, is to grant a sum equa , to that raised. The subscription-lists referred to will be closed on the 7th inst., and the amount raised placed in the Bank, upon which the Committee vill at once apply for an equal sum from Dunedin.
