Butcher’s meat – Beef by the car-
-case ,7d to 8d per lb; fat sheep,do 7d
to 8d ,market well supplied; pigs
do 9 to 10d.good supply;lamb do
9d th 10d, supply fair.
May- The demand for consump-
-tion is now almost wholly supplied
by the provincial farmers, which
commands £6.10s to £7.
Maize-The market is well suplied
small lots are worth at ss.bd.
Oats- New crop is worth m large
quantities ,4 s b.d. Good colonial and
Californian , 4 s to 45.d., Scopp nomial
Onions-The stock of good onoins
is now very low and there are no
advices of shipments for the port.
The price has advanced to £24 to
£25 per ton.
Potatoes- We are stil without sup
-phics from abroad and our merchants
sell the best Jauri at from £8 to £8
10s.by the quantity.
Barley – little m the market
the demand limited; crushed 6s to
6s 3d;whole ssb.d.
