Association — At a local meet-
-ing of the Canterbury cottages
Building Association held yes-
-terday in the Mechanie's Ins-
-titute.W. Thomson Esq. in the
Chair it was resolved that the
Capital should be £.5000 in
2500 shares of £2 Each Penyable
in these calls of not more than
135.4d per share at intervals
of not less than six months.

Two days ago, a lad named
Malmanche,was found in a
State of insensibility on a”run”
at Akaroa Upon Examination
it was discovered he had sustain-
-ed a deep cut which appeared
to have been inflicted with a
hatchef on the back part of his
head:but being in sensible,
nothing can be gathered from
him as to how he met with the
accident.lndeed all hopes of
his recovery have been given
