TOWN BOARD.

A meeting of the Town Board was held at the Court House, on Tuesday evening last. Present : Messrs Thompson (in the chair). Williams, and Baudinet. Minutes of previous meeting read and confirmed. A letter from the Provincial Secretary, enclosing blank forms of voucher and informing the Board that £1000 and £400 respectively — grants made at the last session of Council — would be placed to their account at the Bank of New Zealand, on their being filled in and returned to the Government. A letter from the contractor for the main sewer, requesting the Board to advance him £200 on the work already done. A account from Ferguson and Mitchell, Dunedin, for £8 155., was handed in. The clerk was instructed to have the account for cleaning the Court House sent in before next meeting. It was then resolved that no applications for money be received until the grants made by Government at last session be placed to the credit of the Board.
