Kruger’s Funeral.
Two thousand burghers attended Kruger’s funeral at Pretoria. As the coffin was lowered into the ground, 21 guns were fired, at Bang Edward’s command. Kruger's political testament, read at the funeral, advises the Boers to try and realise in the future all the best ideals of tho past, with such unity t>f anind and strength as it was possible to rebuild. Do Wet and Schalkburger, who spoke at tbe grave, observed that their independence was lost, hut not their nationality.
