“A Ratepayer” and the County Chairman.

TO TliE EDITOR. Dear Sir, —I have read with considerable interest the correspondence by “A Ratepayer ” and County Chairman, and am glad to see County affairs ventilated. Now, as all councillors must admit, the present Council is exceptionally weak, and, as in another year a general election will take place, I would suggest that any changes, such as that of the Clerk, and the appointment of an engineer, be held over. After the next election we may expect changes in the personnel of the Council, and with a year in which to consider these important alterations, the new Council should be able to do what is best for the County, whereas any radical change at present must necessarily be hurried and probably unsatisfactory.—l am, etc.,

ONLOOKER. Kaitaia, Ist November, 1904.
