Concerts at Motueka. — The Amateur Musical Society gave two concerts at Motueka, on Monday and Wednesday, the 26th and 28th ultimo. The performances, we understand, gave great satisfaction to audiences which, if they were not large, were at least select. Nelson Church of England Parish Organization. — It will he seen from an advertisement that the members of the Church of England, resident m the districts of Nelson, Waimea West and South, and Richmond, have been constituted severally into parochial congregations. With regard to the two former, we understand that the qualification determined on by the Bishop and the Archdeaconry Board m October, has been duly obtained ; namely, that three-fifths of the annual stipend required for the Minister shall be raised by the residents m the several districts, to meet a grant of two-fifths from the Nelson Church Endowment Fund : but it is necessary for the congregation of Trinity Church, Richmond, to extend their pledges of annual subscriptions to the amount of a£lso, as the stipend of the Minister is expected to be 36250 for the ensuing year, m order that their constitution into a parish may be legitimately confirmed by the Archdeaconry Board, wliich is, under the Bishop, the supreme executive government of the Church of England-com-munion m the province. It is to be expected", also, that the stipend of the Rev. H. F. Butt, who has a larger and more important charge, will be augmented by the new Board, to the sum of 26250 at the least, for the ensuing year, which the administrators of the Church Endowment Funds are now well enabled to do, by the recent liberal contributions of the members of this communion m Nelson. Mercantile. — Mr. Ridings sold by auction, on Saturday last, four-roomed Singapore houses, not warranted complete, at from £26 to £32 each; and a complete one, 29 by 19 feet, realized £95. Messrs. A. Fell & Co's sale of farming stock, household furniture, &c, on Thursday last, at Wensley Hill, Waimea, was extremely well attended, and tKe bidding was very spirited. Wesleyan Missionary Society. — On Sunday last, sermons were preached m the Wesleyan Chapel, Nelson, by the Rev. T. D. Nicholson and Rev. D. Dolamore, on behalf of the above Society. Both services were well attended. On the following day, a tea and public missionary meeting was held m the Chapel. The chair was taken by J. W. Saxton, Esq. ; and after the Report had been read by the Rev. J. Warren, various resolutions were proposed and addresses delivered by the Rev. D. Dolatnore, Rev. J. Warren, and j Messrs. Hough, Dauiell, Gardiner, and Sewell. The meeting was not quite so well attended as usual. Land Sales. — Mr. Alexander Aitken sold by auction, on Thursday last, and at previous sales, at the Albert Auction Room, land m Brook-street, Nelson, at from Bs. Gd. to 20s. per foot ; land m Tasman-street, opposite Hooper & Co.'s Brewery, at from 40s. to 50s. per foot; rather more than half an acre of land, opposite the Bakers' Arms, Nile-street, realized ; a farm of 50' acres, at Wakapuaka, about five miles from Nelson, sold, with its improvements, for £800; the lease of a

house and shop m Bridge-street, Nelson, having 18£ years to run, sold for 90 acres of land at the Moutere realized 56 150 ' laud m Sandy Bay fetched £2 an acre ; and town laud, near Victory-square, sold at from 16s. .to 30s. per foot.
