ALEXANDER AITKEN will offer for SALE by public AUCTION, at Richmond, almost immediately after their arrival from the Wairau, which is expected to be during the first week [ of November next, and of which due notice will be given, 50 HEAD of CATTLE, being Steers and Heifers ranging from one to three years old, The Auctioneer scarcely thinks it necessary to remind the public that, should the population go on increasing at the same ratio it has done the hist few days, nothing in the settlement offers a safer or more profitable investment than Cattle, as the demand for beef must necessarily be proportionate. / Terms at sale. Betlhv, to .DISPOSE OF, by i PRIVATE CONTRACT, ail Ms VALUABLE FREEHOLD PROPERTY, situate in Suburban North, and called Glenwood. This very desirable property is about 10 miles from Nelson, and consists of 30 Acres of valuable timber Land, and 40 Acres, more or less, of arable Land, fit for the plough and of first-rate quality. But the principal recommendation to the whole is, its splendid adaptation for supplying the markets with an article so much required, viz., Sawn Timber and Firewood. The Proprietor has partly erected, at a very considerable expense, a Saw Mill, intended for the use of both Vertical and Circular Saws, the motive power of which is ensured by a never-failing stream of water which flows through the property, and which, in addition to working the Saw Mill, is also amply sufficient for a Bmall Flour Mill, which the district will very soon require. ' On the property, and near the Mill, is erected a substantial and comfortable Dwelling House, attached to which is a Garden and Orchard ; and improvements are now being generally carried on. The roada leading to the above are now daily improving, and it is not improbable but that at some not very distant day the road to the Pelorus will pass through the district.
