HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified, in accordance with the provisions of an Act of the Superintendent and Provincial Council of Nelson, Session 11., No. 5, intituled " An Ordinance to provide for the Protection of Roads," that it is intended to proclaim that the provisions of the third clause of the above-mentioned Ordinance shall come into operation in the following districts, viz. : — 1. The Hundred of Nelson ; 2. The Huudred of Waimea East ; as the said Hundreds are defined in a Proclamation of his Excellency the Officer administering the Government, dated at Auckland on the 16th day of November, 1854, published in the New Zealand Government Gazette of the 17th of November, 1854, No. 38. SOME misapprehension existing with regard to the office of Registrar-General of Births, Deaths, and Marriages for New Zealand, his Excellency the Officer administering the Government directs it to be notified that, under the authority of the Registration Ordinance (Session VIII., No. 9), his Excellency has been pleased to appoint John B. Bennett, Esq., to be Registrar-General of Births, Deaths, and Marriages for New Zealand ; such appointment to take effect from the 10th October, 1854. NOTICE is hereby given that the Locker will attend at the Bonding Warehouses for the delivery of Goods cleared for Home Consumption or Exportation, as follows :—: — 1. At Messieurs A. Fell and Company's , Warehouse in Trafalgar-street, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, at 9 o'clock, a. m. 2. At Messieurs Curtis Brothers' Warehouse, Haven Road, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, at 1 1 o'clock, a. m. 3. At Messieurs Morrison and Sclanders' Warehouse, Haven Road, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, at 1 o'clock, p.m. 4. At Ridgway's Warehouse, Haven Road, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Satur- , days, at 9 o'clock, a. m. -5. At the Queen's Warehouse, Custom House, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 1 1 o'clock, a. m. The attention of the Proprietors of the respective Bonding Warehouses is called to the following extract from the 46th clause of the " Customs Regulation Ordinance," 4 Victoria, Session 1., No. ". "46. And be it enacted and ordained that all goods so warehoused shall be stored in such part 3or divisions of the warehouse as the Collector or other proper officer may direct, and in such manner as that easy access may be had to every package; and if the occupier of the warehouse shall omit to stow the same, he shall forfeit for every such otnission the sum of five pounds." Whenever the proprietor of a Bonding Warehouse is desirous of re-stowing the goods in such warehouse, upon giving a written notice to that effect to the Collector, an officer will be directed to attend for such time as may be requisite. The above regulations do not apply to the attendance of officers at the several warehouses for the reception of goods entered to be warehoused. E. H. E. Blackmore, j Collector.
