[From the Government Gazette (Province of Helson) , November 3, 1855.] PROCLAMATION. By His Excellency Colonel Thomas Gore Browne, Companion of the ' Most Honorable Order of the Bath, Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, &c, &c, &c. WHEREAS, by an Act passed in the Session of the Imperial Parliament, hold en in the loth and 16th years of the reign of Her Majesty Queen Victoria, chapter 72, it is amongst other things enacted, That it shall be lawful for the Governor of New Zealand, by proclamation, to constitute within New Zealand convenient Electoral Districts for the election of Members of the House of Representatives, and to make provision for the ap* pointing of Returning Officers, and for the issuing, executing, and returning the necessary Writs for such elections, and for taking the Poll thereat : Novr, therefore, I, the Governor of New Zealand, in pursuance of the provisions of the said in part recited Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that, at the election of Members of the House of Representatives, the following shall be additional Polling Places for the undermentioned districts in the Province of Nelson, viz. : — For the Toicn of Nelson — Mr. Godfrey's Hotel, "Wairau ; Mr. Eyes' House, Awatere ; For ihe Waimea Districts — The Court House, Nelson ; For the Motueka and Massacre Bay Districts — The Court nouse, Nelson ; For the Wairau District — The Court House, Nelson : And I hereby further proclaim and declare, that the Returning Officer of the above-mentioned districts shall be the Resident Magistrate residing at Nelson, or such other person as he may depute to act in that behalf. Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Colony of New Zealand, at Nelson, in the colony aforesaid, this third day of November, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty-five.
