HOME GUARD EQUIPMENT
1 AWAKE N.Z. CAMPAIGN'S APPEAL Considerable success is attending i the efforts of the Awake New Zea- | land Campaign to provide some of i the articles of Home Guard equipment which have been in short supply. The Nelson committee in its canvassing campaign has met with | an encouraging response from those able to supply the articles required. Its experience has shown that it has , been only necessary to point out how j equipment now not in use could be put to use and the donations have j been spontaneous. An immediate and willing response from those who are in a position to . supply one or more of the articles 1 advertised for in to-day's issue will ; help the Nelson branch of the cam- [ paign to complete the task it has set i out to do. The appeal is commend- ! ed to every patriotic citizen. | The equipment asked for includes j prismatic compasses (Army pat- : tern), binoculars, field glases, telescopes and service protractors. Articles may be donated or sold: those to be sold may be valued by Mr T. W. Roberts, jeweller, next to Gibbs’ Motors. ____________
