Auckland, Oct. 20. 1 A warning that the new regulation i requiring licensees of hotels to keep a j book recording the time and date of ; sales of liquor to lodgers after hours l must be observed was given by Mr Morling, S.M., when dealing with two defendants in the Magistrate’s Court. Auckland, recently. The magistrate j said that ‘here must be no laxity in this regard and any further breaches | of the emergency regulation would be 1 met with heavier penalties. One dei fendant was fined £1 and costs and « the other £3 with costs.—P.A.
