Our long-range fighters on offensive patrol over Sicilj' shot down a Heinkel 111. while fighters inland destroyed two j Melo9's. We lost one aircraft during S these operations but the pilot is safe. ’ WEEK’S TOLL OF RAIDERS (Rec. 9.45 a.m.) Rugby, Oct. 19. In the week ended 17th October the enemy lost 114 aircraft in the assault on Malta for the British loss of 27 I Soitfires with 14 pilots saved.
