MR HOLLAND’S RESIGNATION
Sir,—Would some able man kindly describe in a simple non-partisan way just why Mr Holland resigned. He is an educated man, I understand, of substance, and he has given up a great deal by resigning. We women, who have so little time in these days of no domestic help of any kind to even listen to the radio till 9 p.m. when we read the daily paper, also would like it explained truthfully and simply to us. If a general election is held we all have a vote and now is the time to be getting our opinions 'adjusted. Men have so much more leisure especially as most or many of our homes have their men in camps. I do not grudge my husband being away if his loss at home is made up by his service. At times one can’t help wondering about these things very seriously. Hoping someone will help women like me in this critical situation.—l am. etc-, A WORKING WOMAN.
