ROBBERIES SOLVED
BANDIT TAKES POISON Melbourne, Sept. 24 Police were enabled to clear up two robberies yesterday when Dardenelle Stanley Campbell. 28. of Victoria street Carlton, who died last Monday after taking poison, was identified at the city morgue by one of the persons who had been robbed. Campbell left a note stating that he intended to take his life, and in- ! aicated that he was worried about the robberies he bad committed. Detectives had been searching for a man who robbed William Chevers. a tram driver, at revolver point early or Sunday morning in Richmond. Police believed the bandit to be the same man who had attacked Michael Crupi. a 10-year-old newsboy, and robbed him of 6s in Carlton on Saturday night. Crupi, who lives in Faraday street. Carlton, went yesterday to the city morgue and was able to identify deceased as the man who had robbed him
