NELSON BOARD’S MEETING USE OF GROUNDS BY HOME GUARD I The monthly meeting of the Nelson Education Board was concluded yester- | day afternoon. I The Richmond School Committee forwarded to the board copies of corresj pondence with the Home Guard unit I concerning the use of the school tennis courts for parade purposes, j The board decided that in view of i the unsatisfactory statement made by the Captain of the Home Guard unit, instructions be given that the Home j Guard was not to use the school grounds in future, and that it be pointed out that another ground was avail I able. The Auckland Point Committee was ! granted £2O towards incidental expenses and the Hampden Street Com- ! mittee was granted £3 15s for a simij lar purpose.
The Nelson District Methodist Young j Women's Bible Class Union was granted t’-e use of the Wakefield school for a j camp during Easter. 1943. The Pakawau and Reefton committees j were granted £9 and £8 respectively towards incidental expenses. The Tapawera committee was granted ; £4O to assist with ground improvements. s The Takaka Central Committee ask- - eo that the school roll limit of 35 be ( removed. c It was decided to reply that the board \ could not agree to the raising of the ( limit. j The Army Department asked for au- t thority to take over the old school buildings in Westport.
