NEW MOTUEKA D.H.S.

GRANT MADE BY DEPARTMENT The Nelson Education Board at today’s meeting received advice from the department that a grant had been made for the partial rebuilding of the Motueka District High School. The chairman (the Hon. W. H. Mc-

Intyre) said it was pleasing to know that the rebuilding of the school had been started. The grant would cover the cost of eight classrooms and the administration block. He reported on interviews in Wellington with the Minister of Education and the Building Controller. It was decided to call tenders for the purchase of the old brick portion of the Motueka school with a view to approaching the Minister with a request that authority be given for the erection of the additional three new classrooms to complete the new building.
