MAJOR WHO OBEYED SUBALTERN London, Sept. 26. Announcing the award of the Military Cross to Major Paul Parbury, the “London Gazette” says he won the de-j coration when he twice took orders from a subaltern It happened when British troops were breaking out of a Gazaia “box” during tlie battles of Libya. Major Parbury. who was in command of a battery of a held regiment. Royal Artillery, drove up in a carrier as dusk was falling. The subaltern, thinking he was one of the battalion’s carriers, ordered him to silence an enemy post.
