HOSPITAL E.P.S.
; SCHEME FOR EFFICIENT OPERATION The Nelson Hospital Board at its monthly meeting decided that its Emergency Committe draw up a scheme covering the requirements for the efficient operation of the Hospital's E.P.S. The Board's Standing Committee submitted the following report: “The Acting-Medical Superintendent of the Nelson Hospital. «Dr Clarke > in his capacity as Controller of the local Hospitals’ E.P.S. submitted a written reply to the comments of Dr Low anent his report to the last meeting of the board regarding the E.P.S. trial held on 29 8 42. The whole subject was fully discussed with those present who included the Matron and House Manager of the Nelson Hospital and Fir IT. T. Kidson (Liaison Officer between the Hospital E.P.S. and Central E.P.S.). "it was resolved: ‘That the Hospital Emergency Committee together with llie Local Controller (Dr Clarke) anti Mr Kidson draw up a scheme covering requirements for the efficient operation of the local Hospitals’ E.P.S.. particularly in relation to the full employment of the available Auxiliary Services’ personnel. and that in future the committee meet at regular intervals with a view to keeping the organisation functioning and up to date.’ The chairman (Major R. Dagger) commented that the service had not yet had sufficient practice. Dr D. C. Low: "The essence of these things is practice anti practice until all members are conversant with them duties.” The chairman said it would not be necessary for the hospital unit to wait until the City E.P.S. had a trial. It could be —organised by the committee ; which had now been set up for the pur- > pose. The report was adopted.
