BRITAIN’S INDUSTRIAL EFFORT
MANUFACTURERS’ PART “We venture to say that when the history of the present war is written, as regards the economic side, the part played by manufacturers of the United Kingdom will take an important place states the annual report of the United Kingdom Manufacturers and New Zealand Representatives’ Association. “When it is realised what quantities of goods have been made, and are available for export, in addition to the largest armament programme the world ! has seen, arms for our Allies as well as ourselves, all made in United King- . dom factories by United Kingdom work people, then we feel that it will truly be said in attaining the victory which will surely come, the industries of the United Kingdom did their part nobly. The members of our association in New Zealand have knowledge of what has been available for export and can truly appreciate the magnificent industrial - effort this represents, and we think it fitting to record this tribute to all who have contributed —manufacturers, their workpeople, the personnel of the Merchant Navy which carries the goods, and the Royal Navy which guards the trade ! routes. We say—well done."
