MOURNED WITH THE BRITISH (Rec. 9.50 a.m.) Rugby, Aug. 28. A warm tribute to the Duke of Kent was paid in the Guildhall to-day by Mr J. G. Winant, U.S. Ambassador. The Duke had known America well and had an effection for President Roosevelt whose name had been given to his younger son—a tribute that would always be remembered. His last journey was undertaken as a visit to the United States troops as well as British, and they mourned him' with the British. —8.0. W.
