HOME GUARD NOTES

GOLDEN BAY BATTALION Last Sunday A. B and C Companies of the Golden Bay Home Guard Battalion paraded in good strength, A Coy. <Lt. Mogridge) at Takaka, B Coy. <Capt. Crosdale) at Motupipi. and C Coy. 'Capt. Satherley) at Collingwood. The C.O. of the Battalion, Major F. Robertson. D.C.M. and the Adjutant, Lt. J. Cashman. accompanied by Major Lorimer (Nelson), visited B Coy. in the morning and A and C Coys. in the afternoon to see the companies at work. Captain Sharland. Group Adjutant, accompanied by Captain Lockhart and Lt. Busch visited C Coy. in the morning and A Coy. in the afternoon. Captain Sharland gave a very interesting and instructive lecture to both companies on a subject in which be has long proved himself to be very well qualified.
