MEDITERRANEAN TACTICS
NAVAL AND AIR CO-OPERATION EYES ON CYRENAICA (Rec. 1.25 p.m.) Rugby, Aug. 27. Admiral Sir Henry Harwood, Com-mander-in-Chief in the Mediterranean, in an interview, disclosed that important steps had been taken in the Mediterranean to improve co-operation between the British naval and air forces. A new organisation will be set up for this purpose. He said that if the Allies' could re-take Cyrenaica a large British air force in the Mediterranean would be able to operate far from the mainland, and this, backed by surface submarine craft, should prevent Axis supDlies reaching Africa. —8.0.
