MAITAI TEAM IN CHRISTCHURCH
VISITS TO- BECKENHAM AND RICCARTON CLUBS (By Telegraph—Special to “The Mail’') CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The Maitai bowling team played under the best weather conditions experienced on its tour on the Opawa Club s green yesterday afternoon and suffered defeat by two 'games to one. The visiting bowlers, other than those engaged in the matches proper, joined members of the home club in friendly games. Earlier in the day the visitors spent two enjoyable and instructive hours at the indoor rink with Mr T. Marker, the official tester for the Christchurch Bowling Centre. The visitors conclude their play in the City to-day. They met representatives of the Beckenham Club this morning, and of tile Riecarton Club this afternoon.
At the Riecarton Club opportunity will be taken by the Nelson players to give tangible expression to their gratitude for the hospitality shown them by members of the centre and Christchurch bowlers generally.
