MISHAP TO AUTOGIRO

ROTOR VANE BROKEN (By Telegraph—Press Association) INVERCARGILL, 17th January. Owing to the mishap which occurred at the Invercargill Aerodrome oil Thursday afternoon, the autogiro machine, which was piloted from phvistcliurch by R. Matheson, will be out of commission temporarily, and it will be impossible to undertake any further flights until spare parts are procured. The accident occurred wjiile the ’plane was on the ground, and resulted in one of the rotor vanes being broken through striking the propeller. The pilot states that it could not have occurred while the autogiro was in. flight, and was caused by a sudden jolt while the machine was moving along the ground.
