JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP
ATHLETIC MAKE 242 RUNS FOR NINE WICKETS A CENTURY TO MACLEAN On Saturday afternoon at Trafalgar Park, Athletic and Old Boys played a drawn game on the first innings. Old Boys won the toss and sent Athletic in to bat, the latter making 242 runs for the loss of nine wickets (declared). Old Boys played out time for the loss of eight wickets for 103 runs. A feature of the match was the fine batting by J. Mac Lean, who made 103 not out (in which he hit 16 fours and one sixer). The following were the chief scores:— For Athletic, Kinzett 35, L. Delaney 10, Haycock 17, Mac Lean 103 not out, Stallard 10, Spicer 13, Win 11 not out. For Old Boys, Clarke 11, Griffin 30, Webster 11, Burden 23, Ricketts 12. Bowling.—For Athletic, Friend took
one wicket for 20, Win none for 20, Mac Lean none for 15, Haycock two for 8, Kinzett two for 12, Stallard none for 0, Spicer one for 1, Cole one for 9. For Old Boys, Griffin took three for 01, Ricketts two for 42, Webster two for 50, Quinton none for 12, Mills none for 11, Clarke none for 33, Jones none for 4.
