CALLOUS MOTORIST

FAILS TO STOP AFTER COLLISION

(By Telegraph—Press Association)

MASTERTON, 10th January. When Janies Robert Strang, of Masterton, a motorist, collided with a motorcycle at the intersection of Hall and Chapel streets recently he did not stop but accelerated and left an injured motor cyclist and a wrecked machine lying in the water channel at the side of the road. The motor cyclist was picked up by another car, however, which eventually located Strang’s vehicle and took its number, with the result that Strang appeared in the Magistrate’s Court to-day and was fined £7 for failing to stop after an accident.
