UNIVERSITY SENATE
OPENING SESSION
(By Telegraph—Press Association) AUCKLAND, 14lh January. 11'e New Zealand University Senate opened its session in Auckland to-day. 'The Chancellor (Professor J. Macmillan Brown), in his address, paid a moving tribute to the late Sir Robert Stout, and big services to education, and discussed at length the Parliamentary Education Committee’s report. Reference was made also to the deaths of Dr. F. Fitchett, Professor R. J. Scott, and Mr T. R. Fleming. The Senate then continued in committee. v
