2YA STATION

ELIMINATION OF SILENT NIGHT

(By Telegraph—Press Association) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Radio Broadcasting Company decided to cancel Wednesday silent nights in the case of 2YA Wellington. Henceforward from the first Wednesday in February the station will be on the air. The programmes on these occasions will be an entirely new departure from anything yet broadcast in the Dominion and will lie made up from recordings of overseas programmes. Special records some two feet in diameter will be used to reproduce “potted” programmes of wellknown American radio stations.
