According to the records of the meteorological branch of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research Nelson had the top figures for the Dominion in bright sunshine in 1930 when 2648 hours were recorded. Napier gained second place on the list with 2420 hours. Faii’lie, Waipiata, and Invercargill, but the December figures for these stations are not yet to hand.
