RYDER CUP TEAM (United Frew Association—By Electric ’telegraph—Copyright) (Received 13th January, 1.35 p.m.) LONDON, 12th January. Some surprise was expressed that Duncan was passed over in favour of Charles Whitcombe for the captaincy of the British team to meet the Americans in the Ryder Cup. Whitcombe won the British mulch play and open championships and Duncan agrees that he is therefore entitled to the captaincy. Duncan will gladly serve under him.
