ATOTICE is hereby given that at a ' Special Meeting of the Nelson City Council held on the Bth day of January, 1931, it was resolved by Special Order that the Council make a By-law under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, and the Motor Vehicles Act, 1924, and their amendments. And notice is hereby given that the said l’esolution will he submitted for confirmation to an ordinary meeting of the said Council to be held at the City Council Chamber, Selwyn Place, Nelson, on Thursday, the sth day of February, 1931, at 7.30 p.m., at which meeting the date of the coming into force of the said By-law will be fixed. A full copy of the By-law is deposited at the Town Clerk’s Office, Trafalgar street, Nelson, where the same will be open for the inspection of the public during office hours until the confirming meeting is held. The ob.iect and purport of the By-law is to amend the Nelson City By-law No. 4 (1922). (1) By altei-ing the time limit within which motor vehicles may be left unattended in certain streets. (21 By repealing the provisions of the said Bylaw relating to the licensing of and stands for Hackney Carriages. (3) Bv repealing the provisions of the said Bylaw relating to the issue of certificates of competency to and the licensing of drivers of motor vehicles and the regulations to be observed by such drivers and the lighting of vehicles. (2) To amend the By-law relating to licenses by altering the time of expiration thereof from the 31st December to the 31st March. (3) To amend the By-law relating the definition and licensing of Itinerant Traders and Hawkers and to fix the license fees payable in respect of such licenses. To amend the By-law relating to the building line of properties exempted from tlie provisions of section 128 of the Public Works Act, 1928, so far as such By-law- relates to Wakatu Lane.
