BRUTAL CRIMES
ANOTHER IN VICTORIA THIRD WITHIN SHORT PERIOD (United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright) MELBOURNE, 10th January. The body of Adeline Wilson, aged 16, was discovered in a paddock at Ormond not far from her home. A stocking was stuffed into her mouth and another tied round lier neck. Her legs were also tied. It is believed she was first outraged and then suffocated. There is evidence that she was dragged some distance. The crime recalls two similar murders which recently horrified Victorian households.
The police are looking for a youth who was seen talking to Adeline Wilson near tlie front gate of her home the night before her death. She had been shockingly maltreated. The outrage is the third within two months with similar features in each case. Mena Griffiths, aged 11, was outraged and murdered and discovered in an empty house at Ormond, arid a man stands charged with this crime. A fortnight later Mary Dean, aged 25, a school teacher, was found murdered in a lane at Elwood.
