Provisional steps have been taken for a resumption of work. Anticipations of the settlement of the dispute at the joint meeting of the owners’ and the men’s representatives at Cardiff to-day were disappointed by a breakdown in the negotiations on the interpretation of a clause relating to independent arbitration. Government representatives will meet both parties in London on Monday.
