OBITUARY

MR W. J. ROWE The death occurred yesterday of a much respected citizen in Mr W. J. Rowe, manager of the Nelson branch of the Bank of New Zealand for the last two years. Mr Rowe had been suffering for several months. Before being transferred to Nelson he was manager of the Hastings branch of the bank, and was president of the Rotary Club in,that town. , ~ Mr Rowe was last year president of the Nelson Rotary Club, in ..which movement he took great interest. He v. as also an enthusiastic member of the Nelson Golf Club. Although Mr Rowe had been in Nelson only a comparatively short time he had won the esteem and respect of the community generally. lie was of a very genial nature and it was always his endeavour to do his best for all.;

Widespread sympathy will he extended to the widow and the two children left. The funeral took place this afternoon.
