APPRECIATION
(To the Editor) Sir, —During the Christinas rush a parcel was sent by post to me from New Plymouth to Motucka, and re-addressed from there to Nelson and left by the postman during my absence with a note drawing attention to tiie condition of the parcel. As a result of careless packing before posting, the parcel had come open and a portion of the contents was lost in transit. It was about ten days after the parcel was posted that I approached the .Chief Postmaster on. the matter. That official was most courteous and patient although the value of the missing article was comparatively trivial; and said that, although it was not in the Nelson mail room, he hoped it may be traced. Five days later the missing article was. restored. This, is doubtless only one of many similar proofs of the high standard of efficiency for which our Post and Telegraph Department is noted, and I thank you, sir, for space accorded to publicly express my sincere appreciation.—l am, etC '’ M.B. Nelson, 10th January.
