ABOLITION OF LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL LEAVE TO APPEAL GRANTED (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) MELBOURNE, , 9th January. The High. Court of Australia granted the New South Wales Government leave to appeal against the judgment of the New South. Wales Full Court, restraining the State Government from proceeding with, the abolition of the Legislative Council without first submitting the question to the people by a referendum. Mr Justice Evatt. did not appear on the Bench owing to the fact that he was counsel for the Government- when the injunction was. granted.
